Message from our Head of School
On behalf of our faculty and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to GEMS American Academy Qatar (GAAQ). We are proud to be part of the GEMS Education family, a distinguished network of schools well known for providing a superb quality of education. In addition, I am excited that you have selected our school as the place to empower your student to further develop intellectual, emotional, social, creative and physical skills through an enriched, holistic American curriculum, in a collaborative, nurturing environment.
Our balanced educational program places a strong emphasis on academics while incorporating the arts, athletics, community service and a wide range of learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Our curriculum is deepened through child-centered learning and our teachers strive to foster the development of each student’s unique talents and abilities. At GAAQ, we firmly believe that education is about overall student development and, as an international school community, we promote growth through learning, global citizenship, the pursuit of excellence and leadership through innovation.
We are proud of our school’s journey since its inception in 2014. In less than 10 years, we have become a fully NEASC-accredited school, earned one of the highest parent satisfaction ratings in the GEMS Education network, named one of the "Ten Best International Schools in Qatar" and one of the "Most Valuable School to Watch in the Middle East," received the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag award, approved to offer College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses, granted permission to offer the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award, built a thriving, diverse school community with over 80 nationalities and obtained a 100% university acceptance rate since our first graduating class of 2019. All of these great achievements would not be possible without the tireless commitment of our large, tight-knit school community.
